Ryan Tillman believes the best leaders are those who are still in the trenches—living through the same challenges as the people they’re called to serve. Raised in California, Ryan’s life has been anchored by faith, family, and a heart for service.
Currently serving as a police officer in Southern California. Ryan has spent over a decade on the front lines of public safety, earning the title of Officer of the Year and serving as a crisis negotiator for seven years. Throughout his career, he has held multiple specialized assignments, giving him firsthand experience with the very issues that plague Californians today—from homelessness and drug addiction to mental health and declining quality of life.
In 2014, Ryan founded Breaking Barriers United, a movement dedicated to restoring trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve through transparency, education, and genuine connection. As one of the nation’s leading voices on conflict resolution, Ryan has become a highly sought-after keynote speaker, consulting with top companies, school districts, police departments, and government agencies across the country.
Ryan's impact extends far beyond the stage and the badge. He has a powerful presence on social media, with hundreds of thousands of followers and content that has reached millions of people worldwide. One of his most iconic moments—a viral pep rally dance video—captured hearts across the internet, revealing the deep connection he builds with his community and his genuine care for the next generation.
His story and message have caught the attention of influential figures nationwide. Ryan authored the book “Happy Eyes: Becoming All Things To All People,” with a foreword written by Dak Prescott and acknowledgments from leaders such as Michael Strahan. He’s also appeared on national television as part of On Patrol: Live, where viewers got a raw, unfiltered look at what it means to serve with integrity and compassion.
In addition to his service in uniform, Ryan serves as an Assistant Pastor at Turning Point Church, where he leads with boldness rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ. Together with his wife, Kimberly, Ryan balances the demands of parenting their three children, running multiple businesses, and mentoring the next generation of leaders.
